Verification is the process by which an individual verifies the accuracy of information provided on their FAFSA. Verification is a process where students are selected at random by the federal government.
The Department of Education has selected your FAFSA for a process called verification. This process must be completed in order for Warren Wilson College (WWC) Financial Aid Office to determine your eligibility for federal student aid for the award year 2021-2022. The purpose of the verification process is to validate the accuracy of information provided on the FAFSA. WWC partners with Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) to help you complete the verification process.
KHEAA will send an e-mail to the e-mail address of the student and the parent listed on their FAFSA. You should watch for emails from email@example.com with instructions on what the student and parent need to do to create a MyKHEAA account (both student and parent must have separate log-on information).
Complete all requested forms in full: Do not leave any questions blank. All questions must have an answer, even if it is a “0”.
Provide all required signatures.
Based on the documentation received, you may be required to submit additional information.
Continue to monitor your progress through your myKHEAA account.
During peak processing times, please allow extra time for processing your verification documents. To expedite your financial aid, send all required documents together at one time and include the Student ID on ALL documents.
If you prefer text messages KHEAA verify allows that option sign up by texting VERIFY to 855-272-8771
DON’T Delay! The faster you respond to requests from KHEAA, the faster verification can be completed and the faster an award package can be finalized.
If the parent or student has questions, please call KHEAA’s verification services at 855-272-8771 or email your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please Note: A final financial aid package will not be processed and aid will not be disbursed until all verification materials have been received and are complete. Incomplete or unsigned forms will delay the process.
