Dear Campus Community,

On September 24, 2020, the Indigenous Student Association (ISA) presented a set of Demands for Educational and Institutional Reform to VP of Academic Affairs Dr. Jay Roberts, Director of DEI Initiatives Dr. Daleah Goodwin, and members of the DEI Initiatives Advisory Committee. We acknowledge the physical and emotional labor of the ISA in preparing and presenting these Demands. As a College, we will work together and closely with the ISA to consider these Demands and work on an implementation plan. We take seriously the demands of Indigenous students at Warren Wilson College, and we are committed to working collaboratively to shape more culturally responsive spaces in which Indigenous students, and all BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) students, can thrive. We will provide updates as to the progress of these steps in the December edition of DEI Updates.
