The Queer Resource Center (QRC) is committed to building a campus culture at Warren Wilson that honors the dignity and value of people of all genders and sexual orientations. We uplift, support, and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community on campus and provide training and resources about gender and sexual diversity to the community at large. The QRC's work is grounded in an intersectional approach to equity and collective wellbeing. We collaborate with the Queer Student Union, WIDE, the Center for Student Wellbeing, the Office of Spiritual Life, and many other groups on campus.
Located in lower Sunderland (007), the QRC is home to a resource library, gathering space, and our LGBTQ+ Coordinator's office. The QRC runs regular social and educational programming, from movie nights to support and affinity groups, allyship trainings, sex ed workshops, hormone and name change info sessions, Coming Out Day, Trans Day of Visibility, and more. The LGBTQ+ Coordinator is available for student support and advocacy and works to promote LGBTQ-friendly policies on campus, such as All Gender bathrooms and inclusivity trainings for staff and faculty. Our crew members are central to our programming and provide peer support during regular office hours.
