Anna Welton - Associate Dean of Community and Global Engagement

Anna comes to Warren Wilson with over a decade of experience running international programs both stateside and on the front lines of program delivery in Japan, Peru, and Argentina. She holds an MA in Intercultural Service, Leadership, and Management from The School for International Training (SIT) in Vermont and a BA in International Studies from Kenyon College.

She is passionate about bringing a critical eye to the fields of study abroad and community engagement and is continually striving to shape programs that are accessible to a diverse range of students and yield increased social consciousness as a learning outcome.

Rachel

Rachel Kerr - Assistant Director of Global Engagement 

Rachel returns to Warren Wilson after graduating with a degree in Political Science and Spanish. During her hiatus from campus, Rachel volunteered in Spain and Italy which prompted her passion in international education and study abroad. She is currently pursuing her MA in International Education at The School for International Training (SIT). 

As an alumna, Rachel is excited to work with students to find the perfect study away program for each individual and to continue to make Warren Wilson an internationally diverse campus. She believes that study away must be accessible to every interested student.

Stella Banowetz - Global Engagement Student Work Crew Member

Stella (they/she) Stella is studying abroad in Milan this semester. We look forward to them coming back soon 

 

 

                     

                                                                Vika Griffis - Global Engagement Student Work Crew Member

Vika (they/them) is a first year student from Asheville, NC. They are currently working to find a major that resonates with them the most. 

Their first time out of the U.S was to visit their family in Belarus when they were four. They have been traveling all across the world, visiting 12 countries so far. In July they visited Venice Italy and the Greek islands for 2 weeks and absolutely loved it. 

Vika loves anything to do with traveling, especially if that means they get to be outside. They also think it’s super important to learn and experience different cultures. Vika is passionate about making new connections with people all over and gaining an understanding of how other people’s perspective of life is different.

 

Kat Wetherall - Global Engagement Crew

Kat (She/They) is a 2nd year student, who moved to Warren Wilson College from Charlotte, NC. They are currently working towards an Expressive Arts Degree.

 

Their first time abroad was moving to the United States from England, their birthplace, at the age of 10. They have traveled all over the US and have recently been able to return to England for a visit.

 

They enjoy drawing, music, gardening, exploring and good food. They love to meet new people and have a passion for knowledge and learning.



 

 

Carolina Rodrigues Braga - Global Engagement Crew

Carolina was born in Madeira, Portugal and grew up in England. She has visited many countries within Europe including France, Belgium, Scotland, Italy and Spain and her time in the United States is her first time outside of Europe! She believes it is important to meet people from other countries and to actively experience and understand different cultures.

 

Carolina is an exchange student and started here in August 2022. Her major is History which she plans to use to work in the heritage sector after graduation. 

 

She likes to spend her free time painting, hiking, spending time with friends and playing board games.



 

Morgan Hart - Global Engagement crew

Morgan is an exchange student from Northern Ireland, currently in her 3rd year of university. Her major is geography at the University of Ulster however at WWC she studies a range of subjects from economics to sociology. 

 

She has had the opportunity to travel to various countries all over the world from Namibia, to Thailand, to Spain and of course the US!

 

She enjoys hiking, swimming in the sea and meeting new people! She believes it is important to learn from other people’s cultures and experiences to understand everything a little bit better. 

 

Hannah Poe - Global Engagement Crew

Hannah (she/her) is a 3rd-year student at WWC and a new member of the GEO crew. Though she now lives in Swannanoa, she has spent most of her life in the Lowcountry, spending time with her friends and having long days at the beach. 

 

Her first time abroad was traveling the Mediterranean, going up the coast of Italy to Monaco, moving through France, and ending in Spain. Her most recent trip abroad was a study away program in Estonia where she furthered her studies in philosophy; from there, she visited several Baltic countries and met many wonderful people from around the world. 

 

Hannah enjoys reading, karaoke, and a good laugh. You can find her lounging around in the sunshine or any place that serves tea by the pot. Feel free to strike up a conversation when you see her, she loves to meet new people!
