Warren Wilson College WorldWide courses fall into three different designations: Study Abroad courses, Mountain Term courses, and Lightning Term courses.

The costs of tuition, lodging, local transportation and most meals are covered by program fees and financial support from the College. Students are expected to pay for the following additional expenses: airfare, fees for passports, visas, tourist cards or other necessary documents; medical expenses (e.g., inoculations) and medicines; tips; laundry; telephone calls; postage; gifts; fees for non-required activities or excursions; and an occasional meal.

Study Abroad:

  • Fall: Crisis and Resilience in Cuba (SWK 3035), taught by Lucy Lawrence and Jack Igelman
  • Spring: Archeo-Ecology in Ecuador (ANT 3025), taught by Scotti Norman and Eric Griffin
  • Spring: Greece: Climate Change and Mediterranean Ecosystems (BIO 30325), taught by Alisa Hove and Jill Arnold
  • Spring: Sustainable Tourism Practices in Iceland: Balancing Growth and Conservation (BUS 3025), taught by Kristen Keane and J Steffe 

Lightning Term:

  • Spring: Freedom and Family at Boyd Cabin: Archeology and Environment in Buncombe Country (ANT 1000), taught by Scotti Norman (on-campus)
  • Spring: Queer Migrations: Eastern Kentucky Edition (ENG 2000), taught by Beck Banks

Mountain Term:

  • ENS 2951: Everybody Lives Downstream: The French Broad and Colorado Rivers, taught by Amy Knisley and Pat Ciccotto (partially on-campus with 10-day travel component to Utah and Colorado)

Qualification is based on a minimum 2.5 GPA at the time of application, good standing in all areas of campus and academic life, your acceptance of program policies, and any course prerequisites.

To apply for programs: visit the application portal, and type in the program name: i.e. "Cuba". Once you have found the program and clicked on the link, you will see an "apply now" tab on the right side of the page.
